What is the proposed Breakaway Trails Storage Facility?
A developer wants to build a storage unit facility inside the neighborhood at the main entrance.
This will be visible from Granada Boulevard and will be the main feature along the south west side of Breakaway Trail as you drive into the neighborhood.
This Sign and white fence will be removed. Most of the trees visible in the picture will be removed. Storage units will be built just beyond the location of the white fence.
As residents, visitors, and potential homebuyers enter the neighborhood they will no longer see the beautiful foliage on the west side of Breakaway Trail. Instead they will be greeted with Storage Units!
These photos are a rendering provided by the developer. This is the BEST CASE SCENARIO of what the development will look like. The vegetation in this image does not represent vegetation currently on site.
While these storage units are unsightly already, one could only imagine what they will actually look like once the existing greenery is removed and storage units are constructed.

If the residents of Breakaway Trails do not take action now:
REDUCE PROPERTY VALUES - Residence & potential homebuyers will be greeted by unsightly storage units as they enter the neighborhood, decreasing their opinion of the neighborhood as a whole and in turn reducing property values for all residents!
INCREASE NOISE & TRAFFIC - There will be increased noise, traffic, congestion, and excessive bright lighting in and around the area of the main entrance and along Breakaway Trail between the entrance and Shadow Creek Way.
SW ENTRANCE FEATURE REMOVED - The south west entrance features (columns/white fence, community sign, specimen Oak trees) will be removed and the most prominent feature will be tacky and out of place storage units in what was once an upscale community.
SPECIMEN OAK TREES REMOVED - Specimen Oak trees will be removed from the front entrance to make place for the retention pond expansion and development.
VAGRANTS & TRESPASSERS - The proposed visible storage units may attract vagrants and other trespassers.
